The oil they fry the burgers is over a 100 hundred years old. Of course you probably already know that. That's the deal. They fry the burger meat in 100 year old oil.
Few places live up to their hype. Dyer's Burgers however does. Eating the double cheeseburger was like having an orgasm in my mouth. It is really that damn good.
The fries and deep fried desserts are also very good. If you are in Memphis then this is a must stop to eat. -

It was my fiancé and I's first time down in Memphis TN. We had a rough first day as there were some issues with our hotel bookings. However we don't let that dampen our spirits and we still went out at night
We were down on Beale Street for the first time checking out the various spots when we came upon this resto. We went inside and took a quick look at the menu and right away I gravitated towards the chicken wings and fried chicken!
There was a little wait time but BOY WAS IT WORTH IT! I had never seen a full chicken wing that size and it was so delicious and definitely hit the spot. The fried chicken was good but man did those chicken wings hit the spot and a total bang for your buck!
Would recommend this resto to anyone visiting memphis. It's a hidden jem in the heart of Beale.
I would attach the pics but I totally forgot to take em! That's how good the food was -

We didn't try the burgers but we wish we did! NEXT TIME!
Food: we tried the hotdog and the hot wings. SO delicious and a great meal to end day 1 on Beale Street. Hot dog was split in half with mustard, pickle and onion, on a hamburger bun. Bun was so soft and delicious. The wings were the WINNER. We got them as HOT and they were finger licking gooooood. We couldn't stop eating them. Served as whole wings.
Service: check the HOURS before you show up. They close at 11pm and people kept being turned away! Definitely a popular joint and in a great location. Friendly and fast service too. -

4 stars for good food and atmosphere.
My friend and I came here after a Memphis Grizzlies event because it was close to the Forum and because he had heard about their burgers. It wasn't too busy considering it was the weekend and we were seated right away. The service was ehhh -- the waitress messed up my friends order and also swiped the wrong cards for our checks.
As for the food, I ordered the double double combo and the burger was really good and flavorful! The patties didn't have the traditional grill marks or nice crust that I like on patties but they were full of flavor. I also liked the onions and mustard on the burger. The patties are thin so a double isn't too much. I probably could've finished off a triple but no regrets! -

What fast food place charges an extra $1 for a to-go order???????
I ordered a single burger to-go since I was eating dinner only 30 minutes later. I had heard about this famous restaurant with the old, old grease from several sources. After ordering, I sat at the counter by the register while waiting for my order so I could see how the fresh burger balls are cooked. They're flattened paper thin on the counter with a wooden smasher and spatula, then scraped up and placed into the big circular frying pan of grease. I'm guessing it's around 18" diameter with no handle. The patties must cook in mere seconds because I had sat down for maybe 3 minutes and my order was ready.
I ate the burger while walking down the quiet part of Beale street, the far eastern part. For the first bite, I have to admit all I tasted was grease. Additional bites tasted like more grease and a small amount of beef and bread. There are no onions or tomatoes on the burger and this is no gourmet burger by any means. Based on the size of the single, it's really a slider that's so thin, it doesn't even come close to the edge of a very small diameter burger bun. The double is what is more commonly ordered for a meal.
I didn't really enjoy the burger at all, and I'm glad I only ordered a single. It didn't completely ruin my 2nd dinner that evening...but it made my stomach uncomfortable for most of the following day.
